Innomation Inc. was founded by Carl R. Marschke in 2007. After many years of successfully developing machinery for the corrugated box industry, Carl decided it was time to look for new opportunities. Carl resurrected an idea from an earlier project in which he designed a process to automate the production of Kraft paper honeycomb. Carl observed that the cell depth of honeycomb material limited its useful design parameters to moderately thin panel construction. The reason for this limitation was the forces necessary to expand the honeycomb resulted in the paper fracturing as cell depths increased, thereby effectively limiting the honeycomb thickness as a ratio between the cell size, cell depth and paper caliper.
Overcoming this inherent limitation in cell depth was the first technical challenge. Carl's innovation resulted in the design of production machinery which created an expanded cell he named Corrucomb ® . Corrucomb ® broke through the barriers that typical honeycomb faced and the resulting low core density material became the corner stone for a wide range of new product innovation.
Carl's first objective was to use this new material in the creation of modular building panels with superior load bearing and deflection characteristics. Today Innomation is pursuing this goal of delivering the first ever low core density modular building panels for multi-floor large square footage buildings, providing the benefits of lower cost construction, green building processes and open floor spans of 50'.
